May the terrorists, and their instigators, rot in “Hell”—whereever or whatever that may be. Mohammed, Jesus, and Buddha would not approve of this act of out-right murder and senseless autrocities.
PAIN
23.11.01	Today has been sort of, maybe, weird. It is the day after the nationally celebrated 'Thanksgiving Day'. Which BTB the very thought of sends me into [excuse me, goils] projectile vomiting—why anyone of sound mind [well, that is always questionable] would care/want to ingest the flesh of a wild boid, which has been domesticated, for ad infinatum, is beyond sensible, in my opinion.
25.01.02	Neurolysis, microsurgery, and carpal tunnel release of right hand done. 90% chance that there will be, at least, a 50% reduction in pain level and muscle spasm. Wish me luck!
10.03.02	I returned yesterday from my tri-monthly jaunt to Thailand and SE Asia. The 18 hour flight has taken its toll and I have 'jet-lag' not to mention the time difference effects. Ben and I brought Rasika Chamara from Sri Lanka and gave him a whirlwind tour of Thailand. It was Chamara's first time away from home, family and the island. We had a wonderful time and it was exhilarating to see old sites through the eyes of the "Charmer". Krung Thep (Bangkok), Chiang Mai and Phuket were delightful. Of course, Pi-ak and Wut were up to their old tricks and took us out to dinner at the Kata Thani and refused to let us pay for the meal. Ben & I savored the inestimable Caesar salad, again. After sending Chamara back to Sri Lanka laden with memories, new clothes, and a myriad of instructions, Ben and I took a much need respite of reading and resting for two days before heading off to Bali. Bali is/was wonderful altho' at times frustrating. Our hotel-supplied car and driver could not manage to ever get out of 3rd gear and the air conditioning inadequate to say the least. UBUD: The Ubud Inn set in a lovely tropical garden was well worth the trip alone. It is nicely situated and the staff is friendly and very helpful. We were adopted by one of the waiters, Kamar, in the restaurant who made it a point to introduce us to suckling pig (Babi Guling) and roast duck (Bebek Betutu) Balinese style. The Sai Sai Bar is an excellent establishment for cocktails and pizza. It is also the only place on Monkey Forest Road where you can get a halfway decent margarita—I had to ask for additional lime wedges. Reggae and jazz are the music on alternating nights. Additionally, Ary's Warung (restaurant) is not be missed if you like fine cuisine—international and Balinese. After 3 nights it was time to fly back to BKK with a two day hiatus. A dear friend, Chalern, was recently diagnosed with AIDS and fund raiser was supposed to be held for him Saturday night which took a rain check. Then it was off to... HUA HIN: An early morning flight was taken to the beach resort, Hua Hin [pronounced: Wah Hin]. We stayed in a new suite hotel, Apirat Studio Apartments, which is located centrally in the downtown area. I highly recommend this establishment. Sam, Gill, and Omer are excellent hosts. Our room rate was 650 THB or 15.00 USD at the current exchange rate. Tom at DTC Travel arranges all of our excursions.
31.07.02	SandyEggo: Recovering nicely from ‘total’ face lift and blepheroplasty — I now have ‘Asian’ eyes. (Won’t the family be shocked!?!?) Not much bruising just a bit of edema. I am going for ‘lymphatic’ facials to increase the decrease in swelling. I leave on the ‘annual’ road trip with Ms. Tess on 09.08.02. I want to see Aunt Sevilla et al during the next month and will end up in Guerneville on 22.08.02 for a GREAT week with Ben. TTYS.
